GOING TO THE ROOTS OF A LEONARDIAN LOCATION: A SIGNORIA AND ITS LANDSCAPE

Select your language :

This permanent exhibition celebrates both the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death and the 50th anniversary of the constitution of the Museum of Fucecchio. The unifying theme is the formation of the medieval landscape around one of the locations represented in Leonardo’s cartographic documents (particularly the map RL 12685 r of the Windsor Royal Library, in which the consequences of the XIV Century demographic crisis are depicted). The narration continues with the constitution strategies of the Signoria in the context of the region and the Arno valley, the religious and civil evolution of the topographic structure of the centre of the Cadolingian curia, and the structuring of the surrounding landscape up to the founding of the Castle of Fucecchio.
Virtual and plastic reconstructions, including reproductions of the entire Cadolingian epigraphic corpus, along with interactive features and virtual tours will allow you to delve into the most current information on this topic, enriched by recent studies and discoveries.
